Aline I. Gaba
Aline Gaba, J.D., M.S., C.R.C. is a Social Security Disability Attorney with a background in mental health. Ms. Gaba is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who received her Master’s of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After obtaining her M.S. degree, Ms. Gaba worked as a Clinical Research Project Manager in the Department of Psychiatry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine for three years, where she published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. Ms. Gaba’s growing interests in the many ways in which the law intersected with health care inspired her to move across the country and enroll in California Western School of Law, where she graduated with Honors in the Health Law Concentration. During law school, Ms. Gaba continued to publish and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Recent Developments Section for the Journal of Biolaw and Business. She also helped prosecute cases of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse with Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse.
Currently, Ms. Gaba is a Founding Partner in the San Diego Disability Law Group, a law firm that represents Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claimants with all types of disabilities at all levels of the application process. For example, Ms. Gaba represents claimants with mental health impairments such as Major Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizoaffective Disorder. She also represents individuals with physical impairments such as congestive heart failure, back injuries, Fibromyalgia, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Ms. Gaba prides herself on the level of individual attention and commitment she gives to each of her clients. The Social Security disability program is governed by complicated rules and regulations, which most applicants find overwhelming and confusing. In addition, it is a time consuming process that takes approximately two years to complete because initial applications are denied at least 65% of the time, and appeals are denied at least 85% of the time. By representing claimants early in the process, and by understanding the language of the Social Security Administration, Ms. Gaba and the San Diego Disability Law Group are able to alleviate a lot of the stress claimants may experience and help them present the best legal argument for an award of benefits.
